I haven’t checked in on a work-in-progress Wednesday for a couple of weeks. I may have slowed down now that I’m back at work, but I still make a point to spend an hour in the sewing room whenever I can. Today I’m linking up here:
Here’s what I’ve been up to!
A couple of Saturdays ago I couldn’t find any more excuses for putting my taxes off. Who looks forward to that, eh? Not me! So I told myself that as soon as I finished my taxes, I could work on the April Treasure Chest Block-of-the-Month as a reward. With that motivation and a couple of cups of strong tea, I got right to work and finished them in no time!
And then…my reward! Voila! The Greek Cross!
I’ve also been making some 6-inch stars for Nora’s quilt:
After all that, I had the thought that maybe I should clean my sewing machine. So I took off the needle plate and prepared myself for a linty mess…but it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, considering that it’s literally been YEARS since I last cleaned it.
I’ll leave you with some beautiful light from the Lake House this last weekend. Enjoy!
Great blocks! Love that Greek cross! That view is amazing!
Those stars are wonderful and your piecing looks precise but I bet your machine is smiling happily after that cleaning. The view is sure lovely. I do like the Yukon! 🙂
I dislike doing taxes and do my best to put it off, but i am the family tax preparer and each year end up doing at least 3 or 4 returns! But on the other hand I love cleaning my sewing machine. I do things that the sewing machine guy says should be left up to him, but hey, its my machine and I will take it apart if I want… someday I may be sorry for that but in the meantime I really enjoy seeing what is in there to break! or clean…
I also just realized you are in Whitehorse… I have a long lost cousin up there, maybe you know him… hahahaha (he has been known in the past to make those twig chairs)
Please come clean my machine!! 🙂 I KNOW it ought to be done… but it’s no fun. That lake light photo is beautiful!!
Fab pics, Nita! I love the contrast of the fuzzy fibers way up close and then a beautiful landscape. Aaaahhhh.
Congratulations on getting your taxes done. We’ve been working on ours tonight. Ugh! Now it’s 12:24 a.m and I still have to make Jade’s lunch. At least I’ve got about a year’s worth of filing done, thanks to Michael’s stellar sorting skills.
