I thought I would show you a bit of what I’ve been up to with my new sewing machine!
I raided my scrap bins to make these placemats. I used the “slab” method of piecing from Sunday Morning Quilts – one of my favourite project books.
I quilted them with straight line quilting. I can’t begin to express how wonderful it is to have a sewing machine that will sew through a quilt top! My old machine would have eaten these for supper.
Unfortunately, even the best sewing machine won’t magically make a mitered corner. I’m getting better, though…I can definitely tell the difference between the first placemat and the last one. π
And last but not least, I made 12 more blocks and sewed this “wonky hashtag” top together. It’s been a UFO for a couple of years now. Time to get it finished and on its way!
Your hashtag blocks look great and I love your colour slab placemats. I should add them to my something to try list π
Beauties all! Your creativity and imagination fascinate me!
Love your hashtag top. I like it with no borders but if you have it I would audition one of the colours, ie red or yellow , just to see if you like it.
Sunday morning quilts is one of my faves too, Nita. I vote for no borders. Love the look of your hash tags by themselves.:-)
I love the placemats! Of course the one with purple is my favorite!
